JOIN MOUNTAINSIDE GIRL SCOUTS
AS A SCOUT OR LEADER
Girls in Kindergarten through grade 12 can join the fun world of Girl Scouting by becoming a Girl Scout. Your daughter will have fun and enjoy activities with other girls of the same age while being guided by adult leaders.
In Girl Scouts, girls will Discover their world by exploring, envisioning and preparing for a positive future. They will Connect to their world by understanding and caring about the needs of others. They will Take Action to make their world a better place.
Troops may meet after school, evenings, or weekends - generally once or twice a month for about 1½ hours. During the school year, there are also scheduled community activities and town-wide events in which the girls participate.
In order to make troops to accommodate all the girls wanting to join Girl Scouts, we need caring adults, likeyou, to become leaders. You don’t have to be a scout parent, to volunteer as leader. Girl Scouting is fun andrewarding for adults as well as for girls. With your help, Girl Scouting enables the girls of today to becomethe confident young women of tomorrow.
If you would like your daughter to join Girl Scouting; or, if you would like to volunteer as an adult, please download and complete a form below and place it in the Girl Scout box at the Beechwood or Deerfield school offices, or place in the mail.
Registration is on a first-come first-serve basis and all applications need to be in by JUNE 14, 2010 for September placement or at anytime for mid-year placement. Girls will be placed into troops where there is room and leaders are in place. We cannot guarantee placement as we are only limited by volunteer leaders. Meetings start in September. Current Mountainside Scouts need not pre-register again.
*If registrations are received after June 14, girls may not be placed in a troop until October.*
