The Mountainside Girl Scout Service Unit provides administrative, program and community service support to both girl and adult members of GSUSA in Mountainside. This service unit is a member of the Girl Scouts of Washington Rock Council, Inc. which is based in Westfield, New Jersey. The Service Team acts as a liaison for the Girl Scouts of Washington Rock Council, Inc., providing timely information regarding Council sponsored events, training courses and GSUSA Policies & Procedures. Mountainside girl scouts are represented at Service Unit Manager Meetings by our Community Activity Chairs (CACs). This year Mountainside has over 175 registered girls participating in all levels of Girl Scouts from Daisy to Senior. Each year, the service unit organizes several special events and trips for all the girls in the community. These supplemental programs compliment the events that individual troops plan throughout the year to really provide a very exciting and enriching Girl Scouting experience to all girls in the community. Some of these events have become a tradition within the community such as the "Carolling at the Borough Holiday Tree Lighting.
