The Mountainside Girl Scout Service Unit provides administrative, program and community service support to both girl and adult members of GSUSA in Mountainside. This service unit is a member of the Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey Council whose office is based in Westfield, New Jersey. The Service Team acts as a liaison for the Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey providing timely information regarding Council sponsored events, training courses and GSUSA Policies & Procedures. Mountainside girl scouts are represented at Service Unit Manager Meetings by our Troop Leaders and Service Unit Team. This year Mountainside has nearly 400 registered girls and adults participating in all levels of Girl Scouts from Daisy to Senior. Each year, the service unit organizes several special events and trips for all the girls in the community. These supplemental programs compliment the events that individual troops plan throughout the year to really provide a very exciting and enriching Girl Scouting experience to all girls in the community. Some of these events have become a tradition within the community such as the "Caroling" at the Borough Holiday Tree Lighting.
